Projects are where you organize and manage your chat agent solutions. Each project can have its own settings, team members, and configurations. This guide walks you through creating your first project step by step.

Prerequisites

Before you can create a project, ensure you have:
  • An account and are logged in
  • An organization set up (this happens automatically when you sign up)
  • Permission to create projects in your organization (if you’re the organization owner or admin, you have this permission automatically)

Access the dashboard

After logging in, you’ll see your organization’s dashboard.

Open Projects

Look for Projects in the main navigation menu (usually on the left sidebar). Click on Projects to go to the projects page. You’ll see a list of all your existing projects (or an empty page if this is your first project).

Open the Create Project Form

You have two ways to start creating a project:
Look at the top right of the Projects page. Click the New Project button (it has a plus icon). This will open the project creation form.

Fill Out the Project Information

You’ll see a form with several fields. Here’s what each field means and how to fill it out:

Project Name (Required)

The name of your project. Click in the Project Name field and type a descriptive name for your project. Examples: “Customer Support Agent”, “Sales Assistant”, “FAQ Helper”
Choose a name that clearly describes what this project is for.
This field is required - you must fill it in.

Description (Optional)

A brief explanation of what your project does. Click in the Description field and type a few sentences explaining the purpose of your project. Examples: “This agent helps customers find answers to common questions about our products” or “AI assistant for handling customer service inquiries”
This field is optional - you can leave it blank if you want, but it’s helpful to add a description.

Domain (Required)

The industry or business area your project belongs to. Click on the Domain dropdown menu. You’ll see a list of options like:
  • Technology & Software
  • Customer Support & CX
  • Sales & Marketing
  • Healthcare & Life Sciences
  • E-commerce & Retail
  • And many more…
Select the option that best matches your project. If none of the options fit perfectly, you can choose Other.
This field is required - you must select a domain.

Language (Required)

The primary language your chat agent will communicate in. Click on the Language dropdown menu. You’ll see a long list of languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, and many more). Select the language that matches how your chat agent will communicate with users. Examples: If your chat agent will talk to English-speaking customers, select “English”
This field is required - you must select a language.

Review Your Information

Before submitting, take a moment to review:
  • Project name is clear and descriptive
  • Description (if provided) explains the project’s purpose
  • Domain matches your project’s industry
  • Language is correct for your target audience

Create the Project

Submit the form

Once all required fields are filled out, click the Create Project button at the bottom right of the form.

Wait for processing

You’ll see a message saying “Creating Project…” while the system processes your request.
Do not close the page or click away during this time.

Confirm success

After a few seconds, you’ll see a success message: “Project created successfully”. You’ll be automatically taken back to the Projects page. Your new project will now appear in your projects list!

What Happens After Creation

When you create a project, the system automatically:
  • Creates the project with your specified settings
  • Makes you the administrator of the project
  • Sets up the project so you can start configuring it
  • Adds the project to your organization

Understanding the Fields in Detail

Troubleshooting

Possible reasons:
  • You don’t have permission to create projects in this organization
Solution: Contact your organization administrator to request project creation permissions
Check these things:
  • Make sure the Project Name field is filled in
  • Make sure you’ve selected a Domain (not “Select a domain”)
  • Make sure you’ve selected a Language (not “Select a language”)
  • Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*)
What to do:
  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Make sure all required fields are filled correctly
  3. Try refreshing the page and filling out the form again
  4. If the problem persists, contact support
What to do:
  1. Refresh the Projects page
  2. Check if you’re viewing the correct organization (look at the organization name in the top navigation)
  3. If you still don’t see it, try logging out and logging back in
Click the Cancel button (next to the “Create Project” button). This will take you back to the Projects page without creating anything. Any information you entered will be lost.

Tips for Success

Choosing a Good Project Name

  • Do: Use descriptive names like “Customer Support Agent” or “Sales Assistant”
  • Don’t: Use vague names like “Project 1” or “Test”
  • Why: Good names help you and your team quickly identify projects

Selecting the Right Domain

  • Choose the domain that most closely matches your project’s purpose
  • If your project spans multiple domains, pick the primary one
  • You can always change it later if needed

Language Selection

  • Choose the language your chat agent will primarily use
  • If you need multiple languages, you can configure additional languages later in the project settings
  • The selected language affects how the AI understands and responds

Description Best Practices

Even though it’s optional, adding a description helps:
  • Team members understand the project’s purpose
  • You remember what the project is for later
  • New team members get context quickly

After creating your project, you can:

    • Set up AI models, appearance, and other configurations
    • Access this from the project’s settings page

    • Invite other users to work on the project
    • Assign different roles and permissions
